From Keith’s kitchen table to the back seat of the GM’s car, the book is a series of short, humorous stories that reveal secrets of a Stanley Cup architect’s brilliance through his parenting skills and idiosyncrasies, while highlighting the “Old Time Hockey” philosophy that shaped Keith’s genius in assessing talent which turned an expansion franchise into a champion in just seven years. With the acquisitions of players like Bernie Parent, Bobby Clarke, Bill Barber, Rick MacLeish, Reggie Leach, Mark Howe, and Pelle Lindbergh, he earned the nickname “Keith the Thief.”
With a foreword by Ed Snider, and featuring 31 chapters of memories, insights into and reminiscences of Keith Allen the hockey man, the human being and the father, Keith the Thief also contains dozens of previously unpublished photographs from Flyers and family archives.
