America's Pastime in the First State
by Paul Bauernschmidt
America’s Pastime in the First State is a photo graphic essay of Delaware’s Little League® baseball teams and the fields on which they play.
Author Paul Baurenschmidt, who himself was a Little League ballplayer in his youth, toured all three counties of Delaware during the spring and summer of 2008. From New Castle County, through Sussex and onto Kent he has collected views of every park in the state and has captured many of the players, coaches, parents and supporters, either in actual play or in preparing the fields, readying the concession stands or warming up for the big game.
Included are many of Mr. Baurenschmidt’s thoughts on the game, the rules of baseball as they have been adapted to Little League, the Little League Creed and many Historical facts relating to this game, a game that is truly America’s national pastime.
Printed in full color throughout, this fact filled volume will delight readers of all ages.
