Ellen Rendle
Ellen Rendle grew up and attended college in the Midwest. She came to Delaware in 1984 to attend the University of Delaware where she earned a master’s degree in American History.
Employed by the Historical Society of Delaware as curator of photographs and maps since 1986, Ellen has been busy learning local history ever since.
Active in the community, Rendle wrote the 25 year anniversary booklet for Big Brother/Big Sisters of Delaware, and has volunteered for the American Cancer Society, the Luekemia/Lymphma Society, the Judy Johnson Night Memorial Committee and her church.
She co-authored Delaware in Vintage Postcards and was photo editor for Delaware Memories, Volumes 1-2.
Rendle has written three books for Cedar Tree Books: P.S. We Love You (1993), Judy Johnson, Delaware’s Invisible Hero (1994), and The Ghosts of Market Street (1998).
