Paul Bauernschmidt

Paul Bauernschmidt is a native Delawarean, born in Wilmington and educated in the Brandywine School District. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Delaware and a Master of Science in Public Administration from Wilmington College. Since 2000 he has been employed by the State of Delaware as the director of the Delaware Heritage Commission.

Paul has been the text editor and designer for a number of books in the Delaware Heritage Press Collection that focus on the history and heritage of the state. His work on the Commission combined with his own interest in Delaware history has taken him to many towns and villages throughout the State. Paul has spent countless hours in many of the state's parks and gardens in search of amusing and interesting history.

Mr. Baurenschmidt lives in Newark with his wife Mary and three children.
