Janet Davis Huntsberger
Janet Davis Huntsberger, born in Des Moines, Iowa, is a descendant of Abigail Kimball and John Edmund Severance, who arrived in Massachusetts from England on the ship Elizabeth in 1634. She earned her bachelor and master of arts degrees at the University of Cincinnati where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
During the 1970s as director of alumni services at the University of Cincinnati, she initiated and directed two award-winning alumni programs: Alumni College (an informal education program for alumni taught by faculty volunteers) and the Career Resource Center (a formal program to match University of Cincinnati students with alumni mentors). The Career Resource Center was funded by a grant from the W. K. Kellogg Foundation.
In 1982 Janet became the executive director of the Bryn Mawr College Alumnae Association. After her move to Delaware in 1985, she served as volunteer coordinator at the Delaware Museum of Natural History until she retired in 1993.
An admirer of her husband’s paintings, Janet encouraged this volume. She maintains the website at as part of managing practical aspects of showing and selling her husband’s art.
